About Dalmatians

About Dals About Us How to Adopt Online Form News Happy Endings

Fun-loving, intelligent, and athletic, Dalmatians are wonderful companions for active people who delight in sharing their lives with their dogs. Your Dal will want to explore the world with you, snuggle up on your sofa with you, and will usually prefer a place in your bed to a pillow on the floor.

Known for their eye-catching spots, which can be black or brown, Dalmatians have few serious health problems, and are relatively easy to care for. A daily brushing and weekly nail trim is generally enough to keep your Dal looking his best. Weighing between 35 and 75 pounds and built for endurance, Dals love running at full speed. Owners need to provide a safe place (fenced-in back yard or dogpark) for this activity.

Dalmatians are believed to have originated in Dalmatia, which is today a province of Croatia. To learn more about Dalmatians, visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalmatian.
