Teddy, May 2001

The drawing of the happy Dalmatian was done especially for us by artist Laura Smith of Jacksonville, Florida.

It was inspired by photographs of Teddy, who came into rescue in May 2001 from a shelter in Indiana. Teddy decided that life in his foster home was just what he had always been looking for and he moved right in and became a member of the permanent pack.

Laura's drawing captures Teddy's handsome head and gorgeous spots, as well as his enthusiasm for life.

Always ready for fun, Teddy will invent his own games if his humans are too busy to respond to his invitations to play.

Teddy's smiling face and endless antics have always seemed to me to capture the essence of Dalliness.

The drawing of Teddy is a fitting image to represent the essence of what we do: give homeless Dals a chance to be happy again.
